Make cheese on the farm!

Portland Creamery makes fresh goat cheese in a farmstead creamery on rolling pastures in the Willamette Valley outside of Molalla Oregon. The fulfillment operations for Portland Creamery occur from the B-Line small business incubator warehouse in Inner Southeast Portland.

Portland Creamery is currently seeking a dedicated and driven person to join our team full time. As with most small businesses, each employee will play many diverse roles. More important than our specific roles within the organization is each employee’s commitment to the success of a small ethical food producer. In addition to your defined job description, all PC employees play whatever role is needed to fulfill the needs of our communities and customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of cheesemaking start to finish ensuring the highest quality of product. from milk receiving, Pasteurization, curd draining, and cheese pull.

  • Dedicated implementation of our third party inspected food safety program.

  • Become familiar with the working mechanics and assembly of all creamery equipment and be able to troubleshoot or ask for help.

  • Consistently complete all logs and forms in accordance with our food safety program.

  • Ensure the cleaning list gets completed in a timely manner.

  • Speak your mind when you see room for improvement. Everyone has a place at the table.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in culture of rapid change and progress

  • Ability to work efficiently without oversight, but also work as a team in close quarters.

  • A team focused attitude, with the ability to be self motivated and self directed

  • Service minded

  • Maintain a positive attitude and remember that a negative attitude affects everyone around you

  • Maintain good relationship with farm owners and employees to ensure cooperative and positive culture

  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently, effectively, and immediately

  • Previous Food prep or service experience with an Oregon food handlers card a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Able to lift 50lbs.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive the company van

  • Ability to work on your feet for a 10 hour shift when necessary

  • Must be reliable, on-time and ready to work.

Full Time on our farm in Molalla, OR

$15/hour to start with a $2 raise after receiving certifications.
