We´re hiring! Farmers Market Sales
Portland Creamery is looking for a market sales person to run our weekend farmers markets, weekly in-store demos, and possibly special events scheduled throughout the year. We are looking for someone who loves engaging with people, working outside in different environments, and talking about the goodness of farmstead cheese! This position will operate the PSU and Milwaukie Farmers Markets every Saturday and Sunday from now until October, and Thursday or Friday in-store demos in the metro area.
Portland Creamery Farmers Market Salesperson is responsible for:
Arriving to work and market on time
Packing all necessary equipment, sales items, and cheese in coolers
Following all setup, breakdown, and cleanup procedures at market
Maintaining a welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times with customers
Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the market and the market space in the warehouse
Washing all dirty containers after the market
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards
Returning sales items to the proper location at the warehouse
Dressing in appropriate attire for the market. Close-toed shoes required.
Addressing any customer conflicts with a positive and calm attitude
Reporting any sales equipment issues and customer feedback to managers
Driving a car to markets and the warehouse in inner SE Portland.
Being fully vaccinated against Covid (1st, 2nd, and booster shot), and committing to getting any future boosters if/when recommended by the CDC (proof of vaccination is required for employment)
Markets are between 4.5-5 hours long. We provide a seat or you may bring your own.
Must have Oregon Food Handlers card prior to first day of employment
Prior experience in farmers market environments is a plus but not required.

Weekly Schedule (subject to change):
Thursdays and/or Friday: 12-5pm Demo at local grocery store on Thursday or Friday.
Fridays: Prepare for farmers market.
Saturdays: 7:30am-3:00pm, PSU Farmers Market
Sundays: 8:00am-3:00pm, Milwaukie Farmers Market
Includes estimated time for travel, setup and breakdown.
Pay: $15 + farmers market commission.
