The beauty of Chevre is it’s versatility. Often when we consider serving Chevre we don’t get much farther than the cheese and cracker obvious. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one to argue. Especially if you throw a baguette into the mix.

However, Chevre is SO much more than this. We tend to miss out on all the beautiful ways it enhances a dish. Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting some ideas for serving. Both sweet and savory, the possibilities are endless.

Take these scones I made this morning, for example. We are in the midst of berry season here in the Northwest and with that brings bright juicy flavor and yet another beautiful way to highlight some fresh goat cheese.

I used Marionberries, Raspberries and Blueberries (all readily available at farmers markets right now!) in my favorite scone recipe. Once baked off and cooled I added a dollop of Chevre for a savory finish. Goat’s cheese pairs beautifully with all manner of berries and fruits.

What better way to enjoy a taste of summer than all the favorites in one pastry?
